    • to jenni---- been so long since i played that song i am not sure i remember what i did on it---it is likely i would have played it in drop d--- the low e tuned down to d----the chord sequence if i remember is d g a d g a d f sharp minor-- g d repeat that sequence & that is one verse----- the chorus d a d d a g d d d ninth g e minor d a d------i tend to use some odd versions of chords---- but using the regular versions should work to----- hope this helps at least a little---- it is easier to show than tell when it comes to songs... it is a good song....drunk out in the alley wailing to the trashcans----- town crier too far out of town......the kind of song that would be a tumbleweed if it lived out west---- have a good time with it-------greg

    • Dear Greg, #1: You're awesome. I could go on about that quite a bit, but I have a more specific question, so I better get to that. #2: I am currently addicted to your version of Tom Waits's "time." Seriously addicted. I want to learn how to play it your way because it's so gorgeous, though I'm not really a great guitarist, so it may be a stretch. I just play chords mostly, but I'm a music teacher and I'd like to push myself to learn to (basically) play it. So my question is-- what the hell tuning did/do you use? Is it just a D major tuning? You've given me a lot of enjoyment, not just with "Time," but with many, many songs. Thank you so much for that!!
